Z.68v2 and Z.68v3 are different versions within Z-RAM's .68 projectile family. The earlier Z.68v2 presentation describes an 8.5 g design with more rounded sides than its predecessor; the later Z.68v3 introduction highlights side grooves and names the Umarex HDR68/TR68. A shared .68 label does not make the version names interchangeable or carry every model reference from one version to the other. These are solid metal projectiles, not paintballs for paintball games.
What the earlier Z.68v2 presentation explains
The longer Z-RAM film below compares the v2 projectile with the earlier Z.68 design. The presenter points out the rounder sides and changed tip profile, while identifying the weight as 8.5 g. These details explain what “v2” meant in that presentation: a design revision within the existing .68 family.
The film also discusses Z.68s as a product then in development. That is historical context, not another spelling of Z.68v3 and not a current availability announcement. Its title identifies it as an English translation of a 2021 presentation, although this upload was published in 2024.
What distinguishes the v3 description
The Z.68v3 introduction names CNC-machined stainless steel and side grooves. Today's v3 listing states approximately 10 g per projectile and supplies six in a pack. The current 8.5 g v2 offer also supplies six, but describes solid CNC-machined steel and an FSR-style D-form.
These are useful identification details: version, shape description, material wording and individual weight. They do not amount to a measured comparison of how the two products perform. If you are checking a package or an older order, match those details as a group instead of identifying the version from weight alone.
In particular, “10 g” is not an exclusive name for v3: Z-RAM also has a separate 10 g Z.68v2 offer. The guide to the two Z.68v2 weight options covers that choice. Here, the distinction is the v2/v3 design identity, rather than the two weights within v2.
Read model references with the version attached
The older v2 film names FSC, TCP and T8.1/T9.1 in its title. These refer to First Strike FSC, PepperBall TCP and the separate Tiberius T8.1 and T9.1 models. The selected v3 introduction specifically names Umarex HDR68 and TR68. Those are the contexts of two different presentations; the older model list is not a compatibility statement for the later projectile.
The current v3 product description itself names HDR68/TR68, TC68, IntruBuster Gen2 and HDS68. Those references belong to that offer. A related model, a common caliber or a model mentioned in another version's video is not an additional confirmed application.
HDR68 and TR68 are regional names for the same Umarex marker family. The “v2” and “v3” suffixes discussed here describe Z-RAM projectile versions, not generations of that marker. Keeping those two naming systems separate lets an old video, a current product title and an existing package be compared without silently changing the product under discussion.
