Z-RAM GUIDE

Z-RAM Z.50 vs Z.50v2 for Umarex HDR50/TR50: Identifying the Versions

Z-RAM's first Z.50 presentation identifies a 4.5 g projectile; the Z.50v2 introduction identifies a 6 g design with side grooves. Here is how those versions relate to today's two .50 listings for Umarex HDR50/TR50.

Z-RAM Z.50 steel projectiles

Z-RAM's original Z.50 introduction identifies a 4.5 g steel projectile, while the Z.50v2 introduction identifies a 6 g stainless-steel version with side grooves. Both belong to the .50 family associated with the Umarex T4E HDR50/TR50. The useful distinction is the projectile's complete version name and stated weight, rather than the shared caliber alone. These are solid metal projectiles, not paintballs for paintball games.

The first Z.50 and the later grooved design

In the original-product video below, Z-RAM explicitly calls the Z.50 the first .50 version and gives its weight as 4.5 g. The speaker also identifies CNC machining and stainless-steel construction. This provides a concrete way to recognize which product an older Z.50 reference describes.

The separate Z.50v2 introduction names a 6 g stainless-steel projectile and calls attention to its side grooves. Those grooves are a documented design feature of the later version. They are more useful for identifying the product than a promotional phrase such as “new” or “back in stock,” which refers to the time of the announcement.

Identification point Original Z.50 Z.50v2

Why the 4.5 g listing needs a closer read

The shop title identifies the 4.5 g offer as Z.50, but parts of that same description call it Z.50v2. That naming inconsistency matters when matching an older video or previous order: the 4.5 g specification and the separate 6 g Z.50v2 offer remain distinct. If you need the exact version replaced, confirm that the named offer matches it before ordering.

The two cards below retain those separate offers. A six-piece pack is the quantity supplied, while 4.5 g or 6 g is the stated weight of each projectile. Neither number identifies the marker generation.

Keep the marker name separate from the projectile version

HDR50 and TR50 are regional names for the same Umarex marker family. The “v2” in Z.50v2 belongs to the projectile name; it is not a synonym for a TR50 Gen2. Likewise, a .50 projectile and a .68 projectile remain different calibers even when their product names share a version suffix.

If you arrived here while looking for the corresponding .68 family, the Z.50v2-to-Z.68v2 family guide explains that separate naming question. For the two .50 offers here, keep the version, individual weight and exact product title together when comparing your existing package with the shop listing.
