MagMode for Z68 projectiles and FSC/TCP magazines
Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Z-RAM YouTube channel. Z-RAM introduces its MagMode, which is specially adapted to Z68 projectiles for the Tiberius/First Strike FSC, T8.1, T9.1 and PepperBall TCP.
This is how it looks when installed. Everything here is already greased. Installation should actually be quite clear: open the part underneath and push it to the side. The spring comes out, followed by the standard follower, and then the new MagMode goes in.
So, put the MagMode in, then put the spring back again. Pull the whole thing down a little, put the lid back on, and the part is already installed. As already noted, it is installed in the example here.

Six usable shots and the last-projectile problem
The advantage of MagMode is that it gives six shots with the FSC's standard magazine. Until now, Z-RAM has always recommended loading the first Z68 projectile upright: load the first one with its tip up, then load the following projectiles normally. As a result, only five shots are available.
The reason was that the last shot would then be pushed in a little deeper. The normal follower did not always push the last projectile all the way in, and it sometimes got stuck. This was rare, but it did happen. That is why Z-RAM recommended putting the first projectile in upright: then it would not happen. With MagMode, the sixth shot can now also be used.
Greasing, detents and the V1/V2 barrel distinction
Z-RAM also recommends always greasing everything well, including the area shown here. Always grease the projectiles; the examples here are already greased. These are the V1, and these are the V2, which are a little rounder. Be sure to grease the barrel here as well, and make sure the detents are not broken. They tend to break without it being noticed. They should work in every case.
Grease everything here: grease the projectiles and grease the magazine, and then there should be no problems. The V1 can be fired with the FSC's standard magazine without any problems, and with the FSC's standard barrel without any problems, as well as with barrels from .690. For barrels with a bore size of .686, Z-RAM really recommends using only the V2, because they are more rounded here and pass through without any problems.
In any case, MagMode fits the FSC standard magazine, but also the T8.1 and T9.1 magazines, including the 20 g or 16 g magazines shown here. Z-RAM first demonstrates MagMode with the standard magazine and the smaller barrel, meaning the standard barrel.
As already noted, always grease this well; too much is not possible. The greased projectiles can then be loaded here as normal.
As can be seen, there are now six projectiles in the magazine. If silicone spray is available, it is also recommended to spray a little here and at the front. Even with a real weapon, a live firearm, it is always important to keep it clean: unscrew, clean and grease everything well. It is no different here. Especially because this is not designed for steel projectiles, everything should always be well greased.
Seven-shot magazine, rounded follower and spring requirements
The second demonstration uses the 20 g magazine. It will be tested with this .686 barrel and the V2 projectiles.
There are seven shots in this magazine, again with MagMode, and these will be tested with the .686 barrel. Returning briefly to MagMode, its rounded shape adapts perfectly to the projectile. Of course, MagMode can also be used with all other bullets or FSR-shaped projectiles; that is no problem at all. The little follower with the spring in it is now gone. This makes the whole thing a little stiffer and pushes the projectiles all the way to the stop.
Please always use the red springs supplied with the First Strike or PepperBall TCP magazine, for all variants. When using the 20 g magazine, make sure it is the model with the small screw shown here. The original model does not have it at all. If it is missing, a small screw can easily be screwed in here. Without this screw, the gap here may open and the whole thing may no longer work properly.
MagMode and the 20 g magazine are now in stock at Z-RAM. They can be ordered directly and will be delivered immediately. The link is in the video description below. Now it is time for the two tests.
Six Z68 V1 shots followed by seven Z68 V2 shots
The first test uses the standard barrel and six Z68 V1 projectiles. These are Z68 V1, the older version. They are no longer on sale, but some viewers probably still have them.
This test uses the standard magazine with MagMode installed. Make sure MagMode is not locked down here and is ready to slide up. Then load the whole thing, and six shots are fired. Those were the first six shots; the magazine is empty. This again shows that, in Z-RAM's opinion, MagMode works much better than the standard follower, especially with Z68 projectiles.
The barrel is now changed to the .686 barrel from LAPCO. Everything is greased again, and the detents have been checked and are all okay. Here is the loaded 20 g magazine with seven projectiles. These are Z68 V2 projectiles. It has MagMode and seven projectiles in it, and now seven shots are fired.
Fabric penetration and the Z68 V2 rear cavity
As shown, MagMode works pretty well. In the shooting test, the Z68 projectiles penetrated several layers of fabric. The fabric was not under tension; it was just lying there loosely. These are towels, thick towels. The projectiles deliver a lot of performance, and this is only a 9-inch barrel.
In contrast to other projectiles, the Z68 V2 projectiles have a very large space at the rear that can catch the air, the air coming out of the chamber. In most other projectiles of comparable weight, this space is very small. That means the incoming air cannot collect in it. With the Z68, however, all the air collects in the projectile. Therefore, they will always reach the highest speed compared with other projectiles of the same weight.
MagMode availability and Z-Extension announcements
MagMode is now available to buy in the Z-RAM shop; the link is below in the video description. There are also many other interesting things, not only for the FSC but also for the Umarex HDR50/TR50. Z-RAM's Z-Extension ensures a larger chamber.
The Z-Extension also works for many other models. Adapters are now available to enlarge the space in the chambers of the two models named here. The model names at 12:26–12:34 are unclear in the saved captions. The Z-Extension also fits the HDP50/TP50, HDR68/TR68, HDB, HDX, HDS and so on. This gives a larger chamber space, and it can be ordered now.
However, the housing of the HDR or marker needs a little adjustment to make room for the extension. A small hole has been made here, as can be seen. There is also a video on the Z-RAM channel showing how this is done with the HDR50/TR50. Specific videos for the other models will also be made, but viewers can also improvise a little themselves.
An additional part for the extension will also be available soon, allowing an HPA bottle to be mounted directly at the chamber. Z-RAM does not want to reveal too much about it yet; it will present it in upcoming videos.
More shop products, the video's discount offer and farewell
The extension is not the only new item in the Z-RAM shop. There is also a tuning kit for most Umarex models, meaning the PowerPin, as well as valves, other interesting projectiles in .68, .50 and other calibers, Mamba hoses, bottles and regulators. As already noted, there are many new, interesting things in the shop. Be sure to check it out.
For anyone who has watched the video to the end, use the discount code 5zram, written together, to get 5% off all items. Z-RAM wishes everyone lots of fun. Stay safe, and greetings from Z-RAM.
