Z-RAM GUIDE

Umarex .68 Pepperballs: Packaging or Loaded-Magazine Storage?

Humidity protection and safe marker storage are separate checks. A prefilled magazine describes the supplied product, not permission to leave a marker loaded.

Umarex Pepper Dust cal.68 ten-round offer

Keep Umarex pepperballs in their original packaging rather than storing them in the marker’s magazine. The manufacturer’s T4E/P2P safety instructions specify a dark storage place, original packaging and no magazine storage for ammunition.

Dry storage is only part of the answer

In response to a buyer asking about pepperballs left in a marker, Z-RAM highlighted avoiding humidity. That is a useful environmental precaution, but it is not a substitute for safe marker storage. Umarex’s airgun safety guidance calls for unloaded storage in a safe place, separate from ammunition and the power source, with access restricted to authorized users.

Two packages with different contents

The Umarex Pepper Dust .68 offer contains ten rounds. The separately listed Emergency Magazine for HDR68/TR68 contains one five-shot drum, prefilled with three pepperballs and two rubberballs. The second offer is a magazine with ammunition, not another ten-round refill pack.

“Prefilled” describes how that drum is supplied. It does not change the manufacturer’s storage instructions or establish that an installed drum protects ammunition from humidity. Keep the original product instructions with the package instead of treating a ready-filled delivery as permission for loaded storage.

Keep the ammunition types distinct

The mixed drum contains both pepperballs and rubberballs. The manufacturer’s additional long-term care suggestion for rubberballs is specifically labeled for rubberballs; it is not a treatment instruction for pepperballs. Use the instructions for the exact ammunition you have, and ask about unclear package or storage information before use. No universal storage lifetime follows from the word “pepperball”.
