For a First Strike FSC, the Z-RAM MagMode is a magazine follower; the Z-MAG is a magazine frame kit that already includes one MagMode. Choose the individual MagMode when you need that component for a compatible existing magazine. Choose Z-MAG when you want its different magazine frame and capsule accommodation, and do not add another MagMode as a required companion.
Z-RAM's package presentation makes this relationship clear: the presenter identifies MagMode among the Z-MAG contents, then explains that it is also sold separately for the normal magazine. The shared names describe related products with different jobs.
MagMode belongs inside a magazine
A follower is the part that supports the rounds within the magazine. MagMode replaces that component rather than the surrounding magazine body. Z-RAM offers it for First Strike FSC, PepperBall TCP and Tiberius T8.1/T9.1 magazines, with Z-RAM Red and Gun Black color choices.
The separate MagMode presentation discusses its role in the standard FSC magazine's six-round arrangement. That is a statement about the follower within that magazine, not a claim that buying the follower supplies an eight-round Z-MAG. Likewise, choosing a red or black follower does not select a different CO₂ capsule capacity.
The individual offer contains one MagMode. It is therefore the relevant purchase when you already have the compatible magazine and want this part, including as a separately purchased replacement. You do not need the larger frame kit simply to obtain the follower.
Z-MAG changes the frame, not just the follower
The Z-MAG offer contains a two-piece magazine frame, the FSC/TCP Belt Cover or SlipCover, three capsule spacers, a small additional screw and one MagMode. It depends on the valve, spring and screws from an original magazine, so it is a frame kit rather than a complete factory replacement magazine.
Its supported non-threaded CO₂ formats are 8 g, 12 g, 16 g and 20 g. The same Z-MAG supports all four sizes; there is no separate capsule-size version to choose. Those accommodations belong to the frame-kit product. A MagMode purchase alone does not provide the frame or its spacers.
This distinction is useful when comparing two shopping lists. An existing-magazine purchase may consist of the individual follower. A Z-MAG frame-kit purchase already includes that follower along with the frame accessories. These are different starting points, not two mandatory stages of the same order.
Which choices still matter?
The MagMode color is a real appearance choice. The standalone listing offers red or black; the Z-MAG description asks for the included MagMode's color preference at checkout. That choice does not change the confirmed Z-MAG platform or capsule range.
The Z-MAG is supported on First Strike FSC, PepperBall TCP, Tiberius T8.1 and Tiberius T9.1.
