The Z-RAM Z-DRUM is the drum for using the longer Z.68s projectiles in an Umarex T4E HDR68/TR68. Z.68s do not fit the standard drum because of their length; standard .68 projectiles can also be used in the Z-DRUM. Both the empty black drum and the bundle with six Z.68s require the metal driver from your original drum.
Z-RAM’s own Z-DRUM explanation makes a particularly useful distinction: Z.68s and Z.68v2 are different projectile designs. The special drum requirement concerns Z.68s. It should not be applied to every item whose name begins with “Z.68.”
Why projectile length matters alongside caliber
Caliber describes the projectile’s nominal diameter; it does not describe its full length or profile. A longer projectile can therefore share the .68 label with an ordinary round ball while needing more space in the drum. The Z-DRUM provides deeper chambers for that longer Z.68s format.
HDR68 and TR68 are regional names for the same Umarex T4E revolver platform. The drum’s fit applies to that platform; other .68 markers use different feeding arrangements.

This is a choice of suitable ammunition for the drum, not an instruction to mix different projectile types in one load. The Z.68s bundle specifically says not to mix those projectiles with other ammunition.
Flexible TPU is part of the product choice
The black Z-DRUM has a flexible TPU body. Z-RAM describes that material as gripping the projectiles closely and supporting sealing and ejection. In the product explanation, Z-RAM also notes that some buyers choose the TPU drum for other projectiles even when they do not need its extra space for Z.68s.
That gives two reasons for considering it: accommodating the longer projectile, or choosing the stated flexible material. Neither requires treating every .68 projectile as the same shape, nor assuming that a drum change alone produces a particular energy result.
The original driver is still needed
The metal driver wheel is the retained original part. The drum-only listing supplies the black TPU drum without that wheel, and the bundle also explicitly requires the original driver gear. “Ready-to-go” in the bundle name therefore does not mean a new driver is supplied.
If your original drum is missing or its driver is damaged, that affects the purchase decision before choosing either offer. The Z-DRUM body and its six-projectile bundle do not solve a missing-driver problem by themselves.
Empty drum or six-projectile bundle?
Choose the empty drum when you already have the suitable projectiles you want to use. The bundle adds six CNC-machined Z.68s steel projectiles, listed at 9.5 g each, to one black Z-DRUM. Both options provide the same named drum choice; the difference is the included ammunition.
The bundle also gives a .684 bore specification for the projectiles and identifies barrels with an inner diameter of at least .684. Drum fit and barrel fit are separate checks, so keep that projectile-specific requirement with the bundle rather than interpreting the nominal .68 label as an exact barrel measurement.
