The Z-RAM Quick-Piercing system uses the outlet interface of a standard 88 g CO₂ capsule. ASA is a different interface: Z-RAM documents its separate ASA-to-88-g adapter for that connection. A direct fit to a particular Umarex TR50 configuration is not established by these interface facts.
What about connecting Quick-Piercing to a Z-Extension or the Z-RAM ASA chamber adapter? Z-RAM's reply points to the 88 g ON/OFF adapter, but does not explicitly confirm either requested fit. The general 88 g/ASA interface relationship therefore cannot establish compatibility of that complete TR50 configuration: it remains unconfirmed, not incompatible.
The 88 g name does not describe the capsules inside
The Quick-Piercing unit holds two 12 g CO₂ capsules. Its 88 g description refers to the outlet thread, not an 88 g capsule supplied inside the unit. Capsule format and connection format are two different specifications; reading them as one is an easy way to confuse otherwise similar product descriptions.
According to Z-RAM’s product information, the two capsules remain unpierced until deliberate activation. That is the defining storage-state distinction of this system.
Quick-Piercing and ON/OFF describe different jobs
Quick-Piercing describes when the capsules are pierced. ON/OFF describes control of the gas connection. An ON/OFF adapter is therefore not another name for a Quick-Piercing unit: closing a valve does not make an already pierced capsule unpierced again.
The two ON/OFF products in the comparison below share the valve function. The ASA-to-88-g product additionally names the two interface types and includes a pressure display. A shared ON/OFF label therefore does not make two adapter listings interchangeable.
Three product names, three roles
| Product | What its name describes | What is supplied |
|---|---|---|
| Quick-Piercing system | Two 12 g capsule positions with the standard 88 g outlet interface | One unit, 220 mm long and 240 g; CO₂ capsules are not included |
| ASA-to-88-g ON/OFF adapter with display | The ASA/88 g interface distinction plus an ON/OFF function and pressure display | One adapter, 5 cm long and 5.5 cm across including the display; no capsule |
| 88 g ON/OFF adapter | An ON/OFF product for 88 g CO₂ capsules | One blued-steel adapter; no capsule |
Each row is a separate offer, not the contents of one kit.
Why HDX68/TX68 is not the whole fit answer
HDX68 and TX68 are regional names for the same Umarex T4E platform. Z-RAM identifies that platform as a typical Quick-Piercing application, not an exclusive boundary.
Compatibility also depends on available space, pressure approval, sealing, alignment, component condition and the current manufacturer instructions. The unit’s 220 mm length is a product dimension, not proof of clearance in a particular marker.
The Quick-Piercing product describes the capsule unit; the ASA-to-88-g ON/OFF product describes the separate interface adapter. When comparing the listings, keep the capsule format, outlet interface and ON/OFF function separate rather than choosing by the shared word “adapter.”
