Z-RAM Z.68v2 10 g: FSC Test Results of Almost 40 and Almost 55 Joules

The Z-RAM Z.68v2 10 g introduction

The presenter on the YouTube channel is Daniel. This short video introduces the new Z-RAM Z.68v2 10 g projectiles.

Since the Z.68v2 8.5 g version was so popular with customers, Z-RAM thought they might like the 10 g version as well.

The projectiles are briefly weighed. The readings are “9.7”, “9.8”, “9.7” and “9.8”.

Tiberius First Strike FSC and PepperBall TCP: the test conditions

The shooting test uses the Tiberius First Strike FSC. The PepperBall TCP is identical in construction and better known in the USA.

The projectiles are tested with the standard 5-inch barrel and a 7-inch barrel. The 7-inch barrel is installed in most T8.1 and T9.1 models.

The test uses a 12 g CO₂ capsule and an 8 g CO₂ capsule.

The 10 g version is ideal for shorter barrels. The heavy weight of 10 g can achieve better results with shorter barrels, for example the standard barrel of the FSC, T8.1 or T9.1.

FSC chronograph test: standard 5-inch barrel and 8 g CO₂ capsule

The chronograph test now begins. Here, the Tiberius FSC has the standard 5-inch barrel, the standard magazine and an 8 g CO₂ capsule.

Six Z.68 10 g projectiles were loaded for the test.

The result is 32 joules, followed by the original test readouts “218. 173. 103.” That was the last shot.

FSC chronograph test: 7-inch barrel and 12 g CO₂ capsule

The Tiberius FSC now has the 7-inch barrel and a 12 g CO₂ capsule. Again, six Z.68 10 g projectiles were loaded.

The result is 45 joules, followed by the original test readouts “285. 229. 184. 131. 96.” The final shot follows.

FSC chronograph test: standard barrel and 12 g CO₂ magazine

The FSC now has the standard 5-inch barrel, but this time the shooting test uses the 12 g CO₂ magazine. Again, six Z.68 10 g projectiles were loaded.

Of course, this test also uses “mag mode”. Now for the result.

The result is 39 joules, followed by the original test readouts “260. 219. 219. 157.” That is it—very good.

FSC chronograph test: 7-inch barrel, 12 g CO₂ and the stated magazine condition

This test used the 7-inch barrel and a 12 g CO₂ capsule. Again, six Z.68 10 g projectiles were loaded. The setup had “mag mode”, and everything was well greased for this test. The test begins.

The result is 54 joules, followed by the original test readouts “290. 243. 206 166.” Wow—that was really nice.

The results were pretty convincing for an FSC without tuning and with short barrels.

In Daniel's view, the Z.68v2 10 g version is a good solution for anyone who wants to use a short setup and does not want to tune their FSC.

Z.68v2 projectile shape and stainless-steel manufacture

The Z.68v2 projectiles are pointed and have a cup at the back, allowing them to absorb the maximum pressure.

They also have a chamfer for stabilization during flight.

They are made of stainless steel and manufactured with high precision by CNC.
