Z-RAM’s Z.68s presentation gives the S projectile a length of 20 mm including its tip, compared with 17.34 mm for the Z.68v2 sample shown. The accompanying shape discussion gives Z.68s a weight of 9–9.5 g, while the current S listing states 9.5 g. Because Z.68v2 is also sold as a separate 10 g version, the longer S profile is not simply another name for the heaviest Z.68 projectile.
Length, diameter and weight describe different properties
Length is the distance along the projectile, including its front profile. Diameter describes its width, while grams describe its mass. Those measurements can change independently across different designs; a single weight label cannot tell you how much longitudinal space a projectile occupies.
The film’s 17.34 mm comparison is a length statement about the v2 sample beside Z.68s. It must not be confused with the current v2 listings’ 17.35 mm diameter specification. The similar-looking numbers refer to different measurements in different sources.
The S presentation is a shape comparison, not just a scale reading
In the second clip, Daniel points out the more elongated, pointed S profile and gives the 9–9.5 g range. He identifies the other projectile at 8.5 g and separately mentions that a 10 g version is available. That is why three distinct descriptions appear together: the S profile, the lighter v2 shown, and the heavier v2 offer.
The current Z.68s description reinforces the length distinction by calling it 2 mm longer than Z.68v2 and identifying polished steel. Its approximate relative wording should not be treated as a precision remeasurement of the historical 20 mm and 17.34 mm figures.
Z.68s is solid steel, not steel-core ammunition inside a plastic or rubber body. Its longer profile is a property of that shaped metal projectile. Nothing in these descriptions provides a formula for predicting its energy from length or weight alone.
Why the extra length matters to a buyer
A longer projectile needs more space along its length, even when it belongs to the same nominal .68 family. This is a physical-fit question, separate from whether it is heavier. It is also why a current product’s exact compatibility requirements matter more than assuming that every Z.68 design occupies the same space.

Keep the three current weights distinct
