What the kit replaces
The latch and spring form the magazine-retention mechanism in the named older M17 magwell. The kit is intended for a worn or damaged original latch assembly; it does not include the magwell, magazine or receiver hardware.
Confirm the actual fault before ordering. A magazine that does not seat or release correctly can also be affected by the magazine body, magwell wear, debris or alignment.
Generation compatibility is explicit
The product record confirms older Milsig M17 models and excludes the new M17 G3. Do not override that exclusion because another M17 component—such as a receiver pin or regulator part—has separate G3 compatibility.
