Z-RAM PowerPin for the First Strike FSC: A Reported Gain of 41 FPS

Z-RAM's historical First Strike FSC PowerPin test: a reported 41 FPS gain, long-barrel conditions and the warning that this is not an original First Strike part.

The Z-RAM PowerPin for the First Strike FSC

Welcome to the Z-RAM YouTube channel. Daniel finally introduces the Z-RAM PowerPin in this video.

The export valve concerns the firing pin screwed into the bolt. In the presented setup, Z-RAM replaced the standard firing pin with the PowerPin.

The PowerPin is shown here and is completely CNC-machined from steel.

The PowerPin's stated effect with short and long barrels

With the FSC's standard barrel, there is almost no effect because the barrel is simply too short.

The pin ensures that more air flows out faster. With the short barrel, the additional air or additional energy would simply flow out at the side and no longer have an effect. That is why the effect is greatest as barrel length increases.

Z-RAM tested the setup with the 16-inch barrel and an HP system, achieving great results. The pressure stated at this point is unclear in the subtitles.

As already stated, the effect increases with barrel length. A 16-inch barrel is therefore not necessarily required. The presentation also promises great results with a 9-inch barrel or what it calls “an 10 12in Barrel”; good results would certainly be achieved with those as well.

From 9 inches, the stated result is definitely an increase in performance compared with the standard pin.

Barrels described as “20 22 in and longer” had not yet been tested. The effect would have to be even greater.

Further barrel tests and a separate mounting video

Z-RAM will also test other barrels in the future and present them on the channel. Viewers are invited to subscribe so they do not miss those tests.

How the PowerPin is mounted will be shown in another video to follow soon.

The shop link is below in the video description. Daniel is still fitting the HP system and the long barrel for this test; the video then moves straight to the chronograph.

The historical long-barrel FSC test configuration

The FSC has now been converted to the long setup. The front shroud and the scope were left out, leaving just the long 16-inch barrel.

The HP system is 300 bar. Its Ninja regulator had been converted to a stated pressure of 1,300, but the unit is unclear in the subtitles. Such a regulator was also already available to buy ready-made.

The setup is basically the same as in Daniel's previous video, which included a few shooting tests, but without the PowerPin: those tests used the standard pin.

The standard pin reached 376 FPS. The next test checks how many FPS the PowerPin produces.

The chronograph readings and reported gain of about 41 FPS

The test readings are an unclear first reading, 409 FPS, another unclear reading, 414 FPS and 405 FPS.

The maximum FPS reading is unclear in the subtitles. It is described as about 41 FPS more than with the standard pin and the same setup, corresponding to about 11 to 12% more power—a definitely noticeable difference.

The stated joule result and variation between tests

Back at the workbench, the FPS result achieved with the 16-inch barrel is repeated, but the figure is unclear in the subtitles. It is described as equivalent to 70 joules.

Daniel also achieved 427 FPS in previous tests, which would be over 70 joules. As viewers know best, however, chronograph results always fluctuate slightly.

The shop link and the original manufacturer and injury warning

The shop link is in the video description below. One more note at this point: this is not an original First Strike part.

The video's original warning states that only 7.5 joules are allowed in Germany and asks users to ensure that the ammunition and PowerPin used do not exceed 7.5 joules. There is a very high risk of injury.

Steel chamber, .50-caliber announcement and closing invitation

Daniel hopes viewers enjoyed the video. They are invited to leave a thumbs-up and subscribe so they do not miss anything.

The Z-RAM steel chamber will be introduced soon. And that is not all: “the ram” are now also available in .50 caliber. Stay tuned.

Daniel wishes viewers lots of fun. Until next time—Daniel from Z-RAM.
