Caliber tells you the nominal diameter, but it does not tell you whether a shaped projectile will fit a particular magazine. Length, profile, and the marker’s feed path matter. That is why three products labeled “.68” can require three different loading decisions in the same HDR68/TR68 platform.
The exact loading choice for each projectile
| Projectile | HDR68/TR68 loading method | What you need | Main limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Z.68s | Z-DRUM | Z-RAM Z-DRUM for HDR68/TR68 | The stock drum is too short for the longer Z.68s body. |
| Killer Spikes .68 | Stock drum | No special drum required | This normal drum fit is specific to HDR68/TR68. All other .68 marker families require muzzle loading from the front of the barrel. |
| Killer Bullets “New Design” .68 | Muzzle load | No drum; load from the barrel front | Do not treat the HDS68/TS68 loading method as an HDR68/TR68 drum-fit claim. |
Z.68s: choose the Z-DRUM for HDR68/TR68
The Z.68s is a long, shaped .68 projectile. Its length is the deciding factor: it does not fit into the standard HDR68/TR68 drum. The Z-RAM Z-DRUM was designed to accept that longer format while remaining a drum solution for the HDR68/TR68 platform.
This is a positive fit statement for the Z-DRUM and a clear limitation of the stock drum. It is not a claim that every other long .68 projectile will fit the Z-DRUM. Check the exact product and loading guidance instead of generalizing from caliber alone.
Killer Spikes .68: keep the stock drum
Killer Spikes .68 fit normally in the HDR68/TR68 drum. For this specific combination, you do not need the Z-DRUM and you do not need to front-load the projectile. Load and handle the drum in the usual way specified for the marker.
The platform boundary is important. In other marker families chambered in .68, Killer Spikes must be loaded from the front of the barrel. “Fits the HDR68/TR68 drum” therefore must not be converted into “fits every .68 magazine.”
Killer Bullets New Design: front-load in HDR68/TR68
For the HDR68/TR68, the New Design Killer Bullets .68 are loaded one at a time from the muzzle. They are used normally in the HDS68/TS68, but that separate platform behavior does not create a drum-fit claim for the HDR68/TR68.

Get the Z-DRUM and six Z.68s together
The existing ready-to-go bundle combines the black HDR68/TR68 Z-DRUM with six Z.68s 9.5 g steel projectiles. It answers the exact Z.68s loading decision above and is an alternative to buying those two items separately—not an additional requirement.

- Confirm that your platform is HDR68 or TR68—not simply another .68 marker.
- Confirm the exact projectile design, not just the caliber printed on the listing.
- For Z.68s, choose either the separate Z-DRUM plus Z.68s or the ready-to-go bundle—not both as required purchases.
- For Killer Spikes .68, use the stock HDR68/TR68 drum.
- For Killer Bullets New Design .68, plan for muzzle loading on HDR68/TR68.
Use appropriate eye protection, follow the marker and projectile instructions, and limit testing to a lawful sporting or target setting with a safe backstop.
Common follow-up questions
Does every .68 projectile fit the HDR68/TR68 drum?
No. Caliber alone does not establish magazine fit. Z.68s require the longer Z-DRUM, Killer Spikes .68 fit the standard drum, and Killer Bullets New Design .68 use front loading on HDR68/TR68.
Can I use Z.68s in the standard HDR68/TR68 drum?
No. The Z.68s body is too long for the stock drum. Use the Z-RAM Z-DRUM.
Do Killer Spikes .68 need the Z-DRUM?
No. They fit normally in the stock HDR68/TR68 drum.
Should I buy the Z-DRUM and Z.68s separately or as a bundle?
Either route can provide the same required drum-and-projectile combination. The ready-to-go bundle includes one black Z-DRUM and six Z.68s; it still requires the original metal driver gear from the stock drum. Do not order the separate drum and projectile set as additional required items when choosing the bundle.
